White Wine by Babich from Marlborough, New Zealand. The combination of fine days and cool nights typical of Marlborough during late summer/autumn is ideal for the later ripening Riesling. The result is beautifully scented wine with great balance between acid and alcohol. An excellent partner to a wide range of foods, ideal with Asian dishes, or try it with mussel and kumara patties, drizzled with home-made lime-spiked mayonnaise. The aroma of orange blossom and red apple leap readily from the glass with just a hint of lime/citrus. The citrus notes move to the fore of the palate with green gauge and apple. A good acid backbone moderates the upfront sweetness and leaves the wine with a crisp dry finish.

White Wine by Baron zu Knyphausen from Rheingau, Germany. A full bodied, fruity wine with lots of minerals, decent sweetness and a well balanced acidity with a long lasting aftertaste.

White Wine by Buitenverwachting from South Africa. This off-dry wine was made in a Mosel style and offers pink grapefruit as well as fresh notes of Granny Smith apples. Displays an elegant, nutty mouthfeel, with good acidity and notes of pepper. Has an elegant sweet-sour finish.

White Wine by Ch. Ste. Michelle from Columbia Valley, Washington. Eroica is the result of a special partnership of German and American winemakers to craft an extraordinary Riesling from Washington State grapes. This is more than a blend of two estates, Dr. Loosen from the Mosel and Chateau Ste. Michelle from the Columbia Valley: It's an intermingling of Old World and New World philosophy and technique. Eroica reflects not only its variety and site, but also its heritage: bold and forward from its Washington roots, elegant and refined from German inspiration. Named for Beethoven's Third Symphony, Eroica is truly a concert of Old World and New World Riesling. The 2006 Eroica delivers fresh mandarin orange and lime aromas and flavors with subtle mineral and slate notes. This Eroica shows the warm vintage through its slightly richer, bolder style than the previous vintage. Although slightly more fruit forward, the 2006 Eroica still achieves complexity from the diverse mix of vineyards we source from - including higher elevation vineyards on the fringes of the Columbia Valley, as well as the more traditional older vines from the Yakima Valley. - Bob Bertheau, Winemaker

White Wine by Ch. Ste. Michelle from Columbia Valley, Washington. This is our ripe, tropical style of Riesling, which comes from the warm Wahluke Slope region of eastern Washington. The 2006 Indian Wells Riesling exhibits fruit-driven aromas of juicy pineapple and mango. White Wine by Columbia Winery from Columbia Valley, Washington. Floral aroma with hints of peach, quince, lime and clove. Rich and full-flavored fruit on the palate is balanced by refreshing, crisp acidity.

White Wine by Cousino Macul from Chile, South America. Light yellow in colour, Cousi?o's Riesling is fermented to dryness to allow its bright, distinctive fruit to shine through. Its enticing aromas display tropical fruit, with hints of tangerine, evergreen, and citrus. The succulent flavours begin with melon and citrus fruit and continue with apple, orange peel and a hint of ginger. Rich and well-balanced, this wine pairs well with Asian dishes, white meat, and vegetable curries.

White Wine by d'Arenberg from McLaren Vale, Australia. Keen to produce d'Arenberg's first white in the late 1950's, d'Arry Osborn needed no convincing that it should be made from Riesling. Inspired by his friend and neighbor, Cud Kay of Amery Vineyards, d'Arry finally released d'Arenberg's first vintage of Riesling in the late 1960's. Another neighbor, Jack Neil, inadvertently helped d'Arry to decide in which years it was best to make d'Arenberg's Riesling. The Neil's dam runs up against d'Arenberg's Riesling block and a dry summer always meant a Dry Dam, which results in concentrated Riesling grapes brimming with flavor and well balanced acidity. It was not long before d'Arry discovered that the best Rieslings were Dry Dam Rieslings. The Dry Dam's young pale to medium straw color is often permeated with remarkable green tinges. It attacks the senses with ripe, spicy cinnamon, candied fruit and lychee qualities overlaid with lime, citrus blossom and almost perfumed rose-petal aromas. The young Dry Dam is medium bodied with lime and lemon flavors initially, followed by tropical pineapple and pear flavors. The rich, soft, juicy mouthfeel finishes with fresh crisp acidity. Over time the color will take on a deeper golden appearance and the fruit intensity will develop into a richer honeysuckle, orange peel, glace fruit and tea aromas.

White Wine by Dom. Schlumberger from Alsace, France. Product of a great year, this is a beautiful example of a high quality Riesling that is fruity, dry and robust. It will enhance all simply-prepared dishes and fish, as well as meat. It may easily be cellared three to four years, but is enjoyable now. Riesling, a dry yet lively wine with a racy acidity, is considered the noble grape of the Alsatian varietals. It is very different to its German counterpart and to the numerous Rieslings which are now appearing around the world. The Alsace Riesling is better known for the elegant balance of acidity and fruit. It is a late maturing varietal and continues to mature even at quite low temperatures with wonderful results when the vintage ends with a warm and sunny harvest month.

White Wine by Drylands from Marlborough, New Zealand. Drylands Dry Riesling is a direct reflection of the terroir where the grapes are grown. The fruit for this wine is grown in dry, deep, fine alluvium soils in Marlborough's Golden Triangle that encourage a long, cool ripening period. Appearance: Pale lemon in color, with brilliant clarity Aroma: A bouquet of ripe citrus fruit characters accompanied by floral aromas Flavor: Bright notes of grapefruit and lime are accented by touches of honeysuckle. The palate shows good weight and balance with a crisp lingering finish. A structure of elegant, lively acidity is offset by a hint of residual sugar.

White Wine by Gainey from Central Coast, California. In the mouth the wine is bright, fresh and clean. Lovely acidity balances the lowest residual sugar every on Gainey Riesling (except for the Dry Riesling). A melange of fruit flavors such as lemons, peaches and apricots intermingle and the lively spritzy character create a refreshing wine of depth to enjoy with a wide variety of foods - or simply enjoy by itself or at the beach. - Kirby Anderson

White Wine by Gainey from Central Coast, California. Our 2006 Riesling displays varietally-expressive aromas of fresh apple, lime, white peach and mineral, with lovely jasmine and honeysuckle scents emerging with airing. Its sleek green apple, lemon-lime and spicy peach flavors are enhanced by distinctive varietal notes of slate and wet stone with this refreshing minerality extending into the wine's crisp, vibrant finish. An ideal spring and summer patio and picnic wine, it's also marvelously versatile with food, especially sashimi, delicate white-fleshed fish, roast turkey, Asian-inspired cuisines and soft cheeses. White Wine by Giesen from Marlborough, New Zealand. Color: Pale medium yellow Bouquet: Concentrated ripe lemon with notes of ginger, citrus blossom and apricot. Palate: The palate is intensely fruity with an elegant acidity. A citrus tang on the finish provides focus to a medium bodied palate. The fruit driven style with some residual sugar is best enjoyed well chilled with a cheese board or with Asian dishes.

White Wine by Henschke from Barossa Valley, Australia. Riesling is the classic grape variety of Germany and one of the earliest varieties brought to South Australia. Cyril Henschke developed the Henschke reputation for premium riesling wines as early as the 1950s, from the vineyard areas of Eden Valley, Keyneton and Springton. Green gold in color. Sweet and floral with nectarine, white currant, citrus blossom and lime zest, complexed with hints of gooseberry and white peach. The palate is rich, minerally, crisp and zesty with a good structure, depth and length. Cellaring potential: Exceptional vintage, drink now to 2015. White Wine by Henschke from Barossa Valley, Australia. Riesling is the classic grape variety of Germany and one of the earliest varieties brought to South Australia. Cyril Henschke developed the Henschke reputation for premium Riesling wines as early as the 1950s, from the vineyard areas of Eden Valley, Keyneton and Springton. These dry, food-oriented wines are clean and crisp and have the ability to age into delicious marmalade on toast flavors, due to the cool climate of the Eden Valley region. This region provides excellent ripening conditions for the Riesling grape and has a unique track record of exceptional aging potential for the variety. The 2006 Julius Eden Valley Riesling is green gold in color. The nose is very lifted, floral and perfumed with rose petals, citrus blossom, lime/lemon zest, hints of slate and green peppercorns. The crisp, dry palate shows sweet fruit with rich flavors of lemon and lime, fresh acidity and excellent length.

White Wine by Hogue from Columbia Valley, Washington. Every year some of The Hogue Cellars' finest Riesling vineyards stand head and shoulders above the rest. They chose several of these vineyard blocks, earmarked them for Genesis and picked them at the optimal ripeness. What resulted is a beautifully balanced, intense Riesling. Rich and crisp, the wine has aromas and flavors of orange, grapefruit zest, peach and lush pineapple. The balance between its racy acidity and moderate sweetness makes the Genesis Riesling wonderful as an aperitif or a delicious complement to spicy Southeast Asian dishes such as chicken satay.

White Wine by Jacob's Creek from Barossa Valley, Australia. The Riesling grapes were allowed to ripen fully and were only picked when the flavors of rich flowery limes were achieved, and when the supporting mineral acid balance was at its optimum. The Jacob's Creek Steingarten Riesling preserves the delicate lemon-lime citrus fruit and the very soft, but mineral-like flavors which typify the varietal fruit characteristics of a classic Cool Climate Riesling. The ripening of the grapes was monitored with regular berry tasting by winemakers in the vineyard, to ensure the grapes were harvested at maximum flavor concentration. Color: Pale straw with green hues Bouquet: Apple and citrus blossom notes, enhanced with an attractive lemon fragrance and a subtle toasty bottle development nuance. Palate: Very delicate lime and lemon fruit flavors overlain with soft toasty lemon butter complexity, and balanced by a long chalky natural acidity which provides great length and structure to the finish of the wine.

White Wine by Jacob's Creek from South Australia, Australia. Vibrant green color. Attractive flowery citrus lime aroma, clean and fresh with good Riesling varietal definition. Enticing citrus flavors on the palate with great structure and length. The fruit is balanced with soft minerally acid that finishes crisp and dry. The Jacob's Creek Reserve Riesling selects the best out of South Australia's classic Riesling vineyard. A quality premium Riesling, this wine is attractive now, but will certainly reward extended cellaring uder temperature controlled conditions.

White Wine by Jim Barry from Clare Valley, Australia. Jim Barry purchased the Lodge Hill vineyard in 1977, as he was sure it would produce some of the best Riesling in Clare. Situated on the eastern ranges of the township of Clare, it is one of the highest vineyards in the Valley at an altitude of 480 metres, and is ideal for producing steely, minerally Rieslings, distinctive to the area. Estate Grown: 100% The Lodge Hill Riesling 2004 displays floral and lime citrus aromas. The palate is dry and mineral, with floral/citrus flavours and a long, zesty finish. A wine to be enjoyed now or after it has aged gracefully. Ideal to consume with chicken and seafood dishes.

White Wine by Knappstein from Clare Valley, Australia. The 2006 Hand Picked Riesling reflects the perfect ripening conditions of February. The wine is a wonderful example of Clare Valley Riesling, showing lifted citrus fruit and distinct Watervale floral and perfume. On the palate it displays intense lemons and limes, and the persistent fruit flavor is balanced by a refreshing mineral acidity.
