North Coast
Red Wine by Brassfield from North Coast, California. A lively aromatic medley of cedar and brambly dark fruits give a slight character of cooked jam in the initial offering from the glass. The soft entry is highlighted by ripe raspberry and blackberry notes within a soft, round mid-palate, and followed by a balanced structure of tannins and acidity to the lengthy finish. Enjoy with barbequed fare, spicy tapas or Mediterranean cuisine.

Red Wine by Brassfield from North Coast, California. This five acre Zinfandel block was planted in 1998 on the steep north facing volcanic slopes at the foot of Round Mountain volcano in High Valley. The rocky shales and volcanic sands provide excellent drainage and create smaller production yields, while the northern exposure of this vineyard allows for longer maturation and fruit intensity in the grape berries. The wine was aged in small oak cooperage for 16 months in equal portions of French, American and Hungarian oak. A small percentage of Syrah from the neighboring vineyard was blended with this Zinfandel to improve structure and add some additional depth to the finished wine. This vintage shows a sweet, ripe cherry pie nose with well integrated toasty oak notes. A hint of cinnamon and rhubarb are also present with smooth and soft tannins.

Red Wine by Jacuzzi from North Coast, California. Primitivo is thought to be a clone of Zinfandel. It has certain characteristics that make it unique from other clones - mainly it has small berries on a fairly large, loose cluster, is less susceptible to rot than other clones and ripens more uniformly than other Zin clones. Our Jacuzzi Primitivo is deep ruby red, has concentrated strawberry and cranberry flavors and a rich velvety mouth feel. Primitivo is grown primarily in Puglia, Italy. Our Primitivo comes from a hillside vineyard in Lake County situated in the North Coast appellation. The vineyards are found in rolling hills and the grapes are planted in well drained soil. The nurturing heat ripens this vineyard just right so that the Primitivo retains its great acidity and flavor for which this varietal is best known.
