Red Wine by Leeuwin Estate from Margaret River, Australia. The color is vibrant plum with velvet purple edges. The aromas are immediately apparent with a very positive raspberry and currant note showing, surrounded by a striking lift of 'noble' smoke, which in itself shows only from great years and great vineyards. The palate is fruity with length and fine texture. Though the overall effect is a flavorful finesse, there is a great impact of dried fruits and currants on the finish. Positive tannin structure carries it through for the long haul.
