The Copper Trail Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre is made with a minimal intervention approach, retaining and enhancing the natural expression of the fruit. The wine has aromas of blackcurrant and licorice with a hint of cinnamon, enhanced by subtle use of oak. Warm spice tones and a long velvety finish characterize the full, soft, and rich palate. This savory style of wine is the perfect complement to richly flavored food. Ruby red. Suave, powerful aromas of blackberry, kirsch, roasted coffee and licorice candy. Lush and smooth in texture, offering concentrated, well-defined flavors of dark and red berry liqueur, cured tobacco and dark chocolate, with harmonious oak spice notes adding sweetness and complexity. Red Wine by d'Arenberg from McLaren Vale, Australia. In its youth, d'Arenberg's The Ironstone Pressings has a deep, dark plum-purple color matched by just as intense black cherry, spice, plum, strawberry, a little liquorice and brooding blackcurrant aromas. Mulberry, ripe plum and fresh pepper dominate the rich full-bodied palate before a long, intense, rolling, dark cherry spice and gritty tannin finish. Eventually, the Grenache and Shiraz blossom as rich, sweet, violet-like scents, with spicy based aroma, before malty, sweet, dark chocolate flavors and crunchy, chewy textured black olive, spicy ginger and long fleshy textures. The Mourvedre adds dried herbs and iodine characters, which are very persistent, matched with slightly chalky tannins. The hallmark of vigorous, fine piquant tannin and acidity continue to reside with The Ironstone Pressings after some considerable time, as have previous vintages since the late 1950's.

Red Wine by d'Arenberg from McLaren Vale, Australia. The Osborns are proud to release The Stump Jump range of premium McLaren Vale wines, named after the region's old vineyards which were originally cleared using the Stump Jump plough. This South Australian invention enabled the ploughshare to jump over the gnarled mallee Eucalypt roots, saving valuable time and resources. The 2006 vintage was one of the most condensed vintages experienced at d'Arenberg and one of the best ever. After a dry winter, heavy rains in spring allowed for consistent flowering and veraison with almost no interruptions. Eventually, warmer conditions prevailed which was ideal for enhancing fragrance and producing wonderful levels of natural acidity and flavor intensity. The 2006 Stump Jump Red is bright red in appearance with an aromatic nose of ripe, juicy red fruits, dominated with cranberries and loganberries, spice, cardamom, green pepper and a hint of earthy herbal notes. The palate is rich and ripe with mulberries, plums, white chocolate, and spices balanced by ripe tannins. The finish is soft and balanced with savory edges and lively acidity. A pleasure to drink now or cellar over the next 3-5 years.

Red Wine by Grant Burge from Barossa Valley, Australia. The Holy Trinity is modeled on the Rhone-style blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre, which is ideal for the climate and winemaking techniques of the Barossa Valley. Grant Burge reveres the outstanding quality this wine style produces in the Barossa and believes this blend has the ability to become as well known in the Barossa as Shiraz.

Red Wine by Hewitson from Barossa Valley, Australia. This blend of 55% Grenache, 33% Shiraz and 12% Mourvedre is simply delicious. Dean Hewitson has yet again crafted a intensely flavored and elegant wine, appropriately named after his daughter Harriet, better known as Miss Harry. Wonderful aromas of ripe cherry and plum jump out of the glass. On the palate is filled with sweet ripe red fruits, with hints of spice and mocha adding to its charm. Beautifully balanced and long of the finish. A great wine with years of enjoyment ahead.

Red Wine by John Duval from Barossa Valley, Australia. The 2005 vintage of Plexus is an intricately structured blend comprised of rich and vibrant fruit from Barossa Valley's old, low yielding vines. A true refection of Barossa's soil and climate, Plexus expresses a supple and silky mouth feel and a spicy, ripe red fruit finish. Intense and elegant, Plexus demonstrates an impressive concentration and structure with a seamless balance. Traditional winemaking practices and sixteen months in French oak barriques will ensure the age worthiness of this third release. Enjoy the 2005 vintage now or cellar it for 8-10 years to garner additional complexity.

Red Wine by Kangarilla Road from McLaren Vale, Australia. Aromas of lifted spice with ripe dark berry and light conserve fruit balanced with integrated oak. This extraordinary wine has long, full, integrated flavor with spice, dark fruits and finishes with an abundance of soft tannins. The 2005 vintage followed good soaking rains during the prior 2004 winter. The gentle Spring yielded excellent bud burst, early shoot growth and full canopies, creating optimum ripening conditions. The summer of 2005 brought mild, daytime temperatures and typical, cool nights. The resultant wines show intense fruit and excellent balancing acidity. As far as good vintage years go, 2005 will be remembered as one of the truly great ones.

Red Wine by Oxford Landing from South Australia, Australia. The nose shows bright fruit aromas of fragrant raspberries and plums, a hint of white pepper and a dash of nutmeg and allspice. The palate is generous and fruit driven with layers of cherries, red berried and spice from the Grenache. Fuller plum and dark fruit flavors from the Shiraz priovide flesh and weight in the mid palate with the fine soft tannins providing structure and a slightly savory finish.

Red Wine by Rutherglen from Victoria, Australia. This is a great Rhone blend. The Reunion heralds the delightful 'Reunion' of 60% Mourvedre, 20% Shiraz and 20% Grenache. Mourvedre is rarely the dominant variety in these traditional blends, however the 2005 vintage saw the variety develop magnificent colour, tannin ripeness and exceptional concentration in flavor and varietal characters, adding spice and game to the blend. The Shiraz offers lovely berry fruit, pepper and color richness, while the Grenache is the strawberry, candy, vanilla and spicy support variety. Delicious drinking.

Red Wine by Two Hands from Barossa Valley, Australia. 65% Shiraz, 35% Grenache Deep black with a red hue. Lifted notes of dusted sweets, chocolate, lavender and freshly cut herbs. Good intensity with excellent ripe and vibrant red fruit flavors with hints of white pepper. A velvety smooth structured wine with soft approachable dry tannins. Brave Faces is an excellent food wine.

Red Wine by Yalumba from Barossa Valley, Australia. Yalumba Hand Picked Mourvedre Grenache Shiraz 2004 is deep, dark, purple ruby red in colour. A very attractive and aromatic nose offers white pepper and black cherry with brier and bramble notes. Complex, rustic and very Rhone-like, with dried herbs and roasted meat flavours. The palate displays flavours that are rich yet stylishly expressed, with dried fruits to cream, milk choclates, dates and malt. Quite savoury with funky complexities of tar, leather, fruit cake and spices, finishing with long gravelly tannins that will transform if you let it rest in a decanter. A wine with fantastic balance, warmth, generosity and approachability.

Red Wine by Yalumba from Barossa Valley, Australia. Yalumba Hand Picked Mourvedre Grenache Shiraz 2005 is deep, dark, purple ruby red in colour. A very attractive and aromatic nose offers sweet black cherry with rustic forest floor aromas, dried herbs and spices. The palate displays stylish flavours with complex fruits and spice. Quite savoury with funky complexities, finishing with fine, soft, balanced tannins. The Barossa Valley has a long history as one of Australia's premium wine regions for growing Mourvedre, Grenache and Shiraz. These Southern France varietals offer a provenance of synergy with each component making a contribution to the complexity of the wine. Mourvedre, more commonly known in Australia as Mataro, is the dominant variety in this Hand Picked blend. It provides sturdy and robust characters, balanced by the perfume of Grenache and the spice of Shiraz. Firm yet silky, with power and length on the palate, a complex wine with supreme elegance.

Blend: 47% Grenache, 41% Shiraz, 12% Mourvedre This blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre is typically silky smooth, with nuts, dark cherries, and plums a plenty, the plush palate gradually tapering off to a lingering finish.
