Very characteristic of the variety, with red ripe fruits mixed with discreet toast flavors. A filling wine with soft tannins and a pleasing finish. Although enjoyable now, it can be cellared for a few years.

Red Wine by De Martino from Chile, South America. Gran Familia is the De Martino family's most exclusive wine and it is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. It displays an intense red color with a hint of dark violet. On the nose, it is deep, fresh, elegant and complex with lots of dark fruits such as cherry, blackcurrant, plum and cranberry. There is also violet, wood, tobacco and vanilla, which help deliver an immense complexity of aromas that gradually reveal themselves in the glass. In the mouth this wine has great structure; full-bodied with very round, ripe tannins. It is well-balanced, complex and expressive with a great variety of flavors deriving from the French oak which gives it extra complexity and depth. A long and very pleasant finish. A great wine to age.

Red Wine by De Martino from Chile, South America. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, this concentrated Cabernet has ripe, smooth tannins that fill the mouth. Slightly firm, with sage and cedar notes running through the currant, loam and coffee flavors. There's good depth on the finish, even if this is a bit brawny in style. Wine Spectator 88 Points

Red Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. Le Dix, meaning 10 in French, was introduced in 1996 to celebrate Domaine Barons de Rothschild's first ten years in Chile. It is only produced in extraordinary vintage years. Le Dix de Los Vascos is grown in the exceptional vineyard, called El Fraile, which means the monk, the oldest planted vineyard at Los Vascos and the original vineyard on the estate. The vineyard is 100% planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and many parcels of the vineyard have vines reaching 80 years in age. The vineyard is fairly large, covering some 200 acres, Le Dix is produced from severely reduced yields from El Fraille (the best) combined with the most rigorous cuvee selection - the resulting wine is of world class stature. Le Dix 2002 is of a deep intense ruby color with an elegant nose full of black cherries within a nice background of black fruits and oak. It is succulent in the mouth with live crispy tannins and vibrant fruit. It is pleasantly long while also full bodied and fresh. It is ready to drink now but will age well for some eight to ten years.

The vineyard is 100% planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and many parcels of the vineyard have vines reaching 80 years in age. Le Dix 2003 has a deep intense ruby color. The powerful nose develops aromas of dry fruit and of ripe wild cherry completed with a lot of spicy and terpenic aromas (wax, cedar, laurel, eucalyptus). The oak is elegant and nicely integrated with the fruit. This adds to the wine pleasant aromas of vanilla, tobacco and cinnamon. The concentration is impressive but the wine stays very well balanced and elegant, fresh, juicy, consistent with rich but ripe and soft tannins. It finishes with a strong taste of cherry (kirsch) and a very nice mineral character with a light bitterness of walnut peel. This outstanding wine is already very expressive but it is so rich and tannic that it needs more time in the bottle to for even more softness and complexity. ...A very pure and well-made Cabernet Sauvignon that can be drunk now or aged for at least another five years. -Wine Enthusiast

Red Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. The color is intense ruby, almost black, with some amber reflections. This Reserve has aromas rich in vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon, cedar and spices. Wood and fruit are seamlessly integrated. Later, the nose develops into ripe black fruit such as mulberry and cherry with a note of blackcurrant. In the mouth, it is rich, round and fleshy like a coffee éclair. The tannins are silky and elegant and the wine has impressive length with a pleasant peppery and liquorice finish. Fully harmonious! One can drink it now or with pleasure for another 10 years.

Red Wine by Los Vascos from Chile, South America. Grape Varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carmenere, 5% Syrah, 5% Malbec The color is an impressive intense ruby. The nose explodes with fruit: cherry, strawberry, raspberry, plum, light mint and black pepper. The oak and the toast of the barrels do not dominate the fruit and bring delicious aromas of coffee, tobacco, cinnamon and creme br?lee. In the mouth, the wine is wonderfully concentrated and juicy. The finish shows intense fruit of cherry and strawberry with a nice touch of licorice. Well balanced, without any heaviness, this velvety and luscious wine is delicious to taste.

The finish is very typical of Chilean wine with hints of bay leaves and eucalyptus. It is fresh in the mouth, light, very fruity and balanced with good persistent tannins well blended into the wine. It is a tasty wine and very approachable.

The Single Vineyard of Manso de Velasco, named after the founder of the town of Curic?, is devoted exclusively to the Cabernet Sauvignon that produces this intense and deeply-pigmented wine. Extraordinarily rich aroma of ripe fruit. Its aristocratic Cabernet Sauvignon tannins have a majestic, regal structure, heightened by the creamy background of oak from the Nevers forest that is used in its long barrel-aging. Initiated in 1997, MontGras' Ninquen Project was born of an appreciation for the unique properties of the specific terroir on Ninquen Mountain in Chile's Colchagua Valley, and an ambition to forge a name for MontGras in the elite ultra-premium category. 222 acres atop Ninquen were dedicated to the venture and planted with a range of red grape varieties. With this move, MontGras became Chile's first winery to plant atop the plateau of a mountain (Ninquen means plateau on a mountain in ancient local dialect). Aromas: Black currant, fig and plums, coupled with cedar, clove and spice. Taste: Full-bodied, velvety smooth and very well-structured. Rounded and ripe, with firm tannins. Red Wine by Penalolen from Chile, South America. 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc Low yields and hand harvesting indicate the care given to the superior fruit from this single-vineyard winery located on a gravelly slope in the Maipo Valley. These standards extend to the wine-making process, with meticulous grape selection and aging in French oak barrels for 14 to 18 months. This is a complex and velvety wine with abundant wild berry and cassis flavors and a whisper of eucalyptus. It will benefit from three to five years of bottle aging.

Red Wine by Root 1 from Chile, South America. Clear skies and the cool dry influence of La Nina resulted in a long growing season and a late harvest for this vintage. Perfectly ripe grapes yielded a beautifully colored, complex Cabernet. Rich ruby in color with dark cherry, black current, toffee and mocha notes. Silky tannins and good structure lead to a long and complex finish accented with vanilla notes. Pair with brie, gruyere, Italian dishes, steak, ribs or chocolate.
