A very attractive and aromatic nose offers sweet black cherry with rustic forest floor aromas, dried herbs and spices. The palate displays stylish flavours with complex fruits and spice. Quite savoury with funky complexities, finishing with fine, soft, balanced tannins. The Barossa Valley has a long history as one of Australia's premium wine regions for growing Mourvedre, Grenache and Shiraz. These Southern France varietals offer a provenance of synergy with each component making a contribution to the complexity of the wine. Mourvedre, more commonly known in Australia as Mataro, is the dominant variety in this Hand Picked blend. It provides sturdy and robust characters, balanced by the perfume of Grenache and the spice of Shiraz. Firm yet silky, with power and length on the palate, a complex wine with supreme elegance.

Red Wine by Yangarra Estate from McLaren Vale, Australia. Sourced from The Beach vineyard with vines planted in 1946 in sixty-million-year-old maslin sands. This wine exhibits incredibly rich and intense flavors of dark fruits with velvety tannins, and with an inviting perfume of fresh roses. A consistent performer over the years, Yangarra's Grenache is one of the rare examples that appears to have the stuff to improve for two or three years. Aromas are dominated by oak at this young age - cedar, vanilla and coffee - but there's plenty of dense, plummy fruit that comes through on the palate and a firmly tannic finish that promises better things ahead. Red Wine by Yellow Tail from Australia. An intensely concentrated wine, this Shiraz initially reveals aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries, chocolate and mocha. Delving deeper into this complex wine, cracked pepper and spice fragrance are apparent with sweet French oak aromas always present. The vanilla softness on the nose leads into a full palate crammed with ripe fruits reminiscent of a basket of sweet summer berries. Seamless and well structured tannins complete this full bodied red wine. Cellaring potential: Drink now or with correct cellaring will mature for up to four years. Suggested food: A perfect accompaniment to this wine would be rich rare char-grilled beef and asparagus or a rich confit de canard to bring out its juicy palate.

The wine is passed through the the pomace of the amarone which lends depth, concentration and complexity. Ripassa is deep ruby red in color with a complex nose showing some dried fruit. Excellent body and texture on the palate with a lingering finish.

Blend: 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella and 10% Sangiovese Deep ruby-red in color with a complex nose of dried fruit and licorice, Ripassa represents one of the most important milestones in Zenato's history.
